I ordered and received this Fanbulous 42″ outdoor plug-in ceiling fan for my front porch. The fan is installed and working, and I offer the following Pros and Cons:PROS1. 42 inches is a good size for most outdoor porch needs.2. On the higher speed settings, this fan effectively pushes a lot of air.3. The included LED light is bright, with three color temperatures to choose from.4. The included 16-ft cord worked perfectly for my needs, and avoided having to use an extension cord. Your needs may vary.5. If you’re under the fan, it should help with keeping flies and mosquitoes away when using the higher speeds.6. A blade balancing kit is included, but I didn’t have a need for it.7. The blades are ABS, making them fully moisture resistant and durable.8. The remote is convenient, and a pair of AA batteries and wall-mounted holder were included.CONS1. Overall not too difficult to assemble and hang for accomplished DIYers, with a couple of exceptions. Plugging in the light fixture was a pain, thanks to the short wiring harness and small plugs that required quite a bit of force to fully seat. Also, lining up and attaching the screws to mount the light fixture was challenging. A magnetic Phillips screwdriver is necessary, but it’s still challenging.2. The light is NOT dimmable. It’s either full brightness or off. At this price range, it should be dimmable.3. The straight plug sticks out like a sore thumb from the outlet. An angled plug would have been far better. I may need to surgically attach my own.4. If the remote gets lost or broken, then the fan becomes a fancy upside-down paperweight. There is no smartphone app available.5. Changing the color temperature requires quickly turning the light on/off until the desired temperature is reached. Thankfully, the fan has a memory to recall the last used temperature.6. The unit comes with only one J-hook for cord management, which is not enough to keep the cord properly secured and safely away from the fan blades. Three J-hooks should have been provided.NEUTRAL:1. This is an open blade design. If unsupervised children will be playing under the fan, you may consider a caged fan instead. However, a caged fan gives birds something to perch on when it’s not in use.2. If the cord is too long for your needs, extra wraps around the top of the fan is possible. If the cord is too short, an extension cord is likely your best option.3. A grounded outlet is required, preferably on a GFCI circuit.Overall, 4-stars. This fan performs its primary job well.
