I recently replaced my old mountain bike with a brand new ebike. What a blast!!! It’s so much fun to ride, but I’m suddenly nervous about the bike getting stolen (I wasn’t especially worried about the old mountain bike getting stolen). But this one?? YES! I already had a fairly heavy duty cable style lock, but watch a bunch of YouTube videos about better ways to lock up a bike. Universally, the answer was a U-Lock like this one. I can see why!!! They’re much more heavy duty than just a cable alone, and this one comes with an additional cable to help tether the front wheel which has a quick-release mechanism on it, making it very vulnerable to a quick theft!! This U-Lock isn’t as big as some, but it works perfectly! It also has an orange plastic slide-cover over the lock itself which helps keep moisture and dust out of the locking mechanism. The convenient included mount made it easy to mount the lock to the bike frame. To be honest, I don’t know for sure if will absolutely prevent a theft by a thief who has power tools like an angle grinder…but I’m sure just the sight of it on a bike would act as a deterrent to any would-be thief. Besides, I’m never leaving it locked up and out of sight for very long. Typically, it’s when I go inside Starbucks to order a drink or something like that. It would take a thief too long to try and steal this bike without getting caught in the act, and I have MUCH MORE PEACE OF MIND now than I would have with just my old cable lock (which I still use in conjunction with this one). I’m extremely happy with my purchase!!! The price was the clincher, but the build quality was a welcome surprise when I got it! Perfect!!
